Assembly Instructions for Our E-Bikes

Your bike has been fully inspected, serviced, and securely packaged in our workshop. Now your new LikedBike has arrived. This guide will lead you through the assembly process simply, safely, and at your own pace.

Before You Start: What You'll Need

Werkzeug Icon
  • Hex keys (Allen wrenches) in common sizes
  • 15 mm pedal wrench or hex key (depending on pedal type)
  • Torque wrench optional, recommended

💡

Tip: Lay out all small parts (pedals, charger, keys) and work on a soft surface to prevent scratches.

What we loosened or disassembled before shipping

For safe shipping, the following parts were disassembled or put into transport position:

  • Pedals removed
  • Handlebars turned sideways and lowered
  • Brake levers turned down
  • Display removed on some models

Thanks to our assembly instructions, you can correctly reassemble everything with just a few steps.

8 Steps to a Rideable E-Bike

Step 1 – Unpack and Inspect Delivery

  1. Check the shipping packaging for visible damage and document it.
  2. Carefully open the box and remove the bike and accessories.
  3. Check the frame, wheels, and attachments for visible transport damage.
  4. Keep the packaging until you have assembled and checked everything.

⚠️ Important for transit damage: Note any visible damage directly on the delivery note and contact us with photos (box, bike, delivery note). This way, we can help you quickly: info@likedbikes.com.

💡

Tip: Keep small screws and spacers in a dish – this way nothing gets lost.

Step 2 – Align Handlebars

  1. Loosen the hex screws on the stem.
  2. Turn the handlebars straight in the direction of travel, then adjust the tilt so that the grips rest comfortably in your hands.
  3. Then tighten the screws evenly again.

💡

Ergonomics Tip: When you're sitting on the e-bike, your forearms and the backs of your hands should form a straight line – this prevents pressure points on your wrists.

Step 3 – Adjust Brake Levers

  1. Align the brake levers so you can reach them easily and comfortably from your sitting position.
  2. Then fix the levers at the desired angle and tighten the screws.

💡

Safety Tip: Briefly lift the front wheel and brake – the wheel should stop immediately without the lever being pulled all the way to the grip. You should also perform this brake test on the rear wheel.

Step 4 – Mount Pedals

  1. Note the markings R (right) and L (left) from the direction of travel.
  2. Important: The pedals have a left-hand thread and are screwed in counter-clockwise.
  3. First, carefully start threading the pedals by hand, then tighten them firmly but with care.

Step 5 – Adjust Saddle and Handlebar Height

  1. Adjust the saddle height so that your knee is slightly bent when your foot is at the lowest point of the crank.
  2. The stem or handlebars should allow for a relaxed posture: with relaxed shoulders, a forward gaze, and without overstretching.

💡

Comfort Tip: Note down your preferred settings (saddle height, handlebar tilt). This way you'll quickly find them again after any adjustments or transport.

Step 6 – Mount Display (if separate, like with Intuvia and Kiox)

  1. Attach the display mount to the handlebars.
  2. Check the plug connections and ensure that everything is securely seated without being under tension.

💡

Cable Tip: Move the handlebars fully to the left and to the right once. Nothing should be strained or rub.

Step 7 – Function Test

  1. Turn on the display and start the system.
  2. Check that all functions are working correctly by turning the lights on and off, cycling through the support levels, and testing the walk assist.

💡

Battery Care: Recharge regularly (instead of running it down completely) and store the battery at 50-80% charge in a dry place (10-20 °C) when not in use.

Step 8 – Final Safety Check

  • Tire Pressure: The recommended pressure is stated on the tire sidewalls.
  • Brakes: The brake levers should be firm, and the brake pads should not rub against the discs or rims.
  • Gears: All gears shift smoothly.
  • Screws: Stem, handlebars, seat post, pedals – everything is tight.

⚠️ Test Ride: Start with a short ride – ideally without traffic – and check the braking behavior and gear shifting. After the first few kilometers, you can briefly re-check the screw connections. To ensure you stay safe in the long term, you should have your bike inspected by a specialist workshop once a year or every approx. 2000 km.
